We had a friendly and helpful cab driver who spoke good English, answered our many questions, and got us to our downtown hotel in 25 minutes!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_02\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_02_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day03_02\" width=\"1004\" height=\"598\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are staying at the Somerset Thonglor Hotel, the tall one in the middle of this photo. On the lower right of the building you can see the outdoor pool and its surrounding oasis! The Thonglor neighborhood is described as \u201chipster\u201d so we fit right in. It is also called \u201cJapanese Town\u201d due to the many Japanese businesses in the area.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_03\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_03_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day03_03\" width=\"1004\" height=\"593\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>MJ rolls right into our \u201cstudio deluxe\u201d room.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_04\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_04_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day03_04\" width=\"1004\" height=\"498\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Spacious,\u00a0 with even a tiny balcony looking down on the pool.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_05\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_05_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day03_05\" width=\"1004\" height=\"721\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And fully equipped kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, refrigerator, sink, and washing machine!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_06\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_06_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day03_06\" width=\"1004\" height=\"643\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We will be using it soon. Here we see evidence that a global brand is trying to be culturally sensitive as Ronald McDonald emulates the polite Thai bow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_06-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_06\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_06_thumb-1.jpg\" alt=\"day03_06\" width=\"1004\" height=\"565\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We found our dinner at an interesting development called \u201cThe Commons.\u201d The idea was to build a community; upper floors have outdoor areas. We were in the cool, yes, hipster eating area featuring many different small vendors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_07-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_07\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_07_thumb-1.jpg\" alt=\"day03_07\" width=\"1004\" height=\"623\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We bought a few beers at The Beer Cap\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_08-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day03_08\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/day03_08_thumb-1.jpg\" alt=\"day03_08\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2026and MJ seemed quite happy with her barbeque from Meat and Bones!
