Those in the yurts stayed dry, but so did we who were in tents. However . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_02\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_02_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_02\" width=\"1004\" height=\"570\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . the 45 degrees morning temps called for a third cup of hot jojo!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_03\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_03_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_03\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Right out of town we took a ferry across the river, leaving WA behind and beginning our journey through OR. WA had a great \u2018Welcome to\u201d type sign . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_04\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_04_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_04\" width=\"1004\" height=\"864\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . and I met Dale and David who were venturing over into OR for a breakfast of flapjacks with merryberries. They dated for ten years, meeting half way from each of their homes in Cathlumet, and decided when they got married two years ago to move here permanently. Nice story!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_05\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_05_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_05\" width=\"1004\" height=\"690\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>oh . . .\u00a0 and we did see a few sasquatch&#8217;s heading down to the river for a morning drink!!! (local farmer humor).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_06\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_06_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_06\" width=\"1004\" height=\"573\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the other side of the river, Oregon DOT had not gone out of their way to make us feel welcome!!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_07\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_07_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_07\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Right off the ferry it was time to climb, which certainly took care of any chill one may have still had . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_08\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_08_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_08\" width=\"1004\" height=\"698\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . top of the first pass . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_09\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_09_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_09\" width=\"1004\" height=\"637\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . where a state park afforded great panorama views<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_10\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_10_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_10\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had made it to the 9:00am ferry and I could see the 10:00am version hauling more bikers across the river.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_11\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_11_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_11\" width=\"1004\" height=\"604\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . there was our host town.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_12\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_12_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_12\" width=\"1004\" height=\"703\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . the bane of bicyclists, the de-laminated steel belted radial tire. INSTANT flat if you encounter some of the steel belt strands. So far on the trip we have had about a half dozen flats. Two folks have had multiples!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_13\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_13_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_13\" width=\"1004\" height=\"624\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . ahh hopefully not today!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_14.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_14\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_14_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_14\" width=\"1004\" height=\"520\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>About 5 miles out of Astoria, a trooper passed me on a curve with his lights on . . . around the curve I saw why. The two young men sitting on the tailgate of the truck had run off the road, tipped upside down . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_15\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_15_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_15\" width=\"1004\" height=\"542\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . and crawled out the car through the windows as the car laid upside down in a creek with two feet of water. A great way to see town, just need to keep an eye on the rails. Don\u2019t fall in the crack!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_23\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_23_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_23\" width=\"1004\" height=\"594\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Seems to be lots of homeless in WA and now OR. They tend to congregate in areas, with all their worldly belongings towed in a shopping cart. Here some one had set up a food station behind their car for those who needed a meal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_24.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"day10_24\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/day10_24_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"day10_24\" width=\"1004\" height=\"531\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Quite the bridge. Jenny had ridden over it in that past and said it was quite the experience!! So no cooking tonight and into town for dinner.
