B and G are off on another bike tour!\u00a0 Bon Voyage! We look forward to comparing stories and having \u2018French Night\u2019 reunions back in Wisconsin! Many were from Asia, as well as Africa, UK, US.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01106.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01106\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01106_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01106\" width=\"1004\" height=\"625\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As we left the church and walked just a block we saw this . . . the Arc!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01107.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01107\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01107_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01107\" width=\"1004\" height=\"425\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The road was busy with traffic and people . . . mmmmmmmm and some police cars.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01112.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01112\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01112_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01112\" width=\"1004\" height=\"566\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lots of traffic and activity. We headed down, actually an access way under the road leading to the Arc, to get tickets to go up onto the top observation platform.\u00a0 We were told we could not buy tickets however, due to a low level terrorist alert today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01105.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01105\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01105_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01105\" width=\"1004\" height=\"474\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When we got back up the stairs and outside, more police had arrived.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01113.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01113\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01113_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01113\" width=\"1004\" height=\"566\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now there was no traffic and everyone was being evacuated from the Arc! This all happened in about 5 or 10 minutes from when we had first arrived.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01108.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01108\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01108_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01108\" width=\"1004\" height=\"463\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We strolled down the Champs Elysees\u00a0\u00a0 which had been used for events related to Paris Fashion Week. This is what was left of an outdoor stage hosted by L\u2019Oreal.\u00a0 EmJay met a fashionista from Houston TX who was in town for the event. She was a designer, and was beautifully dressed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01109.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01109\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01109_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01109\" width=\"1004\" height=\"566\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Champs Elysees is closed one Sunday a month, and we were lucky to be here! It was filled with families, couples, kids, tourists. Joy de Vive in Paris!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01110.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01110\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01110_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01110\" width=\"1004\" height=\"466\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were very good musicians up and down the street, playing for tips.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01111\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01111_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01111\" width=\"1004\" height=\"566\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We saw lots of scooters like this . . . people even lock them up like a bike!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01114.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"fr01114\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01114_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01114\" width=\"1004\" height=\"653\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a little lunchy, we visited the Petit Palais, a beautiful building housing a museum. Rain and emergency warnings do not dampen the Parisian&#8217;s\u2019 spirits! We admired the sycamore trees carefully trimmed into boxy shapes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01125.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fr01125\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/fr01125_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"fr01125\" width=\"990\" height=\"766\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tonight would be our last night in Paris. It was drizzling as we walked to Bistro de Vinges along the darkened, wet streets. Sunday night . . . so there were not too many people out. What a moment to remember . . . seemed like a scene out of a movie. We were welcomed into the dry and warmth of the bistro and had a delicious meal of sea bream . . . and emJay finished it all off with a Brioche Perdue . . .YUMM!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>We will sleep well tonight after all the walking we did today AND the great meal.<\/p>\n<p>Our journey home begins tomorrow morning!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning we had our final breakfast with Bobbie and Gary at the New Orient Hotel.
