Here was our last descent out of the mountains . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr7906.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"nr7906\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr7906_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr7906\" width=\"1004\" height=\"716\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . the big draw of Ticonderoga is the Fort. I rode in with my US Park Service \u2018Golden Eagle\u2019 pass expecting to get waved through. The attendant informed me the Fort was run by a a \u2018private non-profit\u2019 and even though it was &#8216;America&#8217;s Fort\u2019 it would cost me $23.00 to get in to tour. I voted the American way with my pocketbook and left.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr7907.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"nr7907\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr7907_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr7907\" width=\"1004\" height=\"870\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . near the ferry was a \u2018Welcome to New York\u2019 sign. Allison, the ferry owner, collected our $2.00 bike\/passenger fee. Ed spent the last week camping with his family. They left for home with the gear and he is biking back to New Jersey. Nice!!! IT&#8217;S TOO EARLY IN THE YEAR.
