The two of them started a long career with IBM more years ago than they would admit to! Both are retired and Suzie built this beautiful house in 1999. <a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/191.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"19\" border=\"0\" alt=\"19\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/19_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"331\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Morning coffee and southern hospitality . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"20\" border=\"0\" alt=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"331\"><\/a>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Local boy does good . . . getting a bridge named after himself!<a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"21\" border=\"0\" alt=\"21\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/21_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"331\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Soon we were on to another of John and Diana\u2019s favorite haunts, the Open Eye Cafe to pick up some coffee for camp . . . <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"22\" border=\"0\" alt=\"22\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/22_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"287\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>. . . and in true WI tradition, how about a second breakfast! emJay proves the adage . . .when in \u2018Rome do as the Romans\u2019 by enjoying grits with multiple toppings<a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/22a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"22a\" border=\"0\" alt=\"22a\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/22a_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"380\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>We headed to the Webster Street Coop to do our final provisioning for the twelve campers. Interestingly, they must be catering to their \u201colder\u201d boomer generation customers by providing \u201cspy glass\u201d magnifiers about every five feet along the homeopathic\/nutrition\/supplement aisle so you one can read the fine print on the bottles!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"23\" border=\"0\" alt=\"23\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/23_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"331\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Another good product line from WI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/24.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"24\" border=\"0\" alt=\"24\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/24_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"300\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>John knew the store like the back of his hand, having shopped here two to three times a week during their time in Chapel Hill. Pattie and Larry, from Middleton, were the first to arrive, having driven down, and staked out our claim. Now they REALLY know how to camp. Here is a look at their 12X15 foot \u2018Taj Mahal\u2019 complete with cots and towel service!<a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/31.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"31\" border=\"0\" alt=\"31\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/31_thumb.jpg\" width=\"436\" height=\"368\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it\u2019s hard to get away from work . . . but what better place for John to take a conference call than under a shade awning, in 70 degree weather. They were several hours late and got to camp JUST in time to catch tonight&#8217;s main stage headliners Leon Russell and the Charlie Daniels Band. How would they find our campsite where we are staying . . . look for the Wisconsin W!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/39.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"39\" border=\"0\" alt=\"39\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/39_thumb.jpg\" width=\"431\" height=\"369\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The main stage at Merlefest features the nightly headliners usually starting about 7:00pm. During the day, at any one time, there 7-9 other stages with music available. Transportation to and from the fest, which is held on the Wilkesboro Community College, is supplied by a fleet of busses owned by the local Boy Scout troop. The busses run continuously and they come by about every 10 minutes.The \u201cfathers\u201d work for tips only. It must be a great fund raiser for the troop!<\/p>\n<p>T<a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/40.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"40\" border=\"0\" alt=\"40\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/40_thumb.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"258\"><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Our WI contingent stakes out our claim. A real blast from the past. Our group was able to sing along to almost every song.
