No need to get off though . . . as I did, Rod rode up along side me and \u2018tagged\u2019 me with a clothes pin on my ACA Triangle. We are playing a new roiling game where each of us has a clothespin with someone else&#8217;s name on it. One needs to snap it on the persons triangle while they are off the bike or \u2018out of the saddle\u2019 as I was. I need to get an \u2018official ruling\u2019 from Allison if it was a \u2018legal tag\u2019. I had to go!!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5212.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5212\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5212_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5212\" width=\"1004\" height=\"725\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . this sounds like a fun place to live . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5214.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5214\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5214_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5214\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>there has been an Elk reintroduction program on the Chequamegon Federal Forest property and one needs to look out for them in this area. Even when on a bike!!!!! The herd is growing\u00a0 and the reintroduction sounds like it is going to be a succeeds. No hunting season yet . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5215.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5215\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5215_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5215\" width=\"1004\" height=\"754\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . the thing I can\u2019t figure out is how do the biologists train the elk to only cross the road, at these crossings . . .???????<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5216.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5216\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5216_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5216\" width=\"1004\" height=\"885\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . by the number of these signs we saw along the way it looks like they have developed a goo working relationships with local landowners. It would be great to wake up, get the first cup of coffee of the day and look out the window at an elk!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5217.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5217\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5217_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5217\" width=\"1004\" height=\"794\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . this is the only elk we saw today, in Clam Lake, our halfway point and rest stop, as we cycled through the forest. Maybe next time!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5218.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"nr5218\" src=\"https:\/\/travels.wohu.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/nr5218_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"nr5218\" width=\"1004\" height=\"551\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>WDNR has got out of the fire tower detection business, going with strictly citizen reporting and aerial detection, and is in the process of removing the towers. Looks like the Fed\u2019s may still have a tower program on the Chequamegon National Forest.<\/p>\n<p>We are staying in Glidden tonight. The gang is overnighting in the high school rather than the local park because there is rain predicted tonight and tomorrow. Bad news on food though, the only grocery in town has closed. There are several C-stores and chef\u2019s Good Mike and Rod are going to see if they can rustle us up some grub . . . otherwise we will be eating out (three taverns in town!!!)
