<\/a><\/p>\nIt was a cool 66 degrees out when we started riding. Another reason we start early is shown by the flags above in downtown Chester . . . no wind!!!<\/p>\n
. . . another \u2018bowling alley\u2019 stillness in small town USA.<\/p>\n This looked like a sweet little stop on the outskirts of Chester . . . but doesn\u2019t look like it made it.<\/p>\n MT DOT had a weather station out on the road and you can see from the anemometer we had a NW wind bout 6 mph and we are heading due west. NICE!!!<\/p>\n Along the way be came to this unique ride . . . <\/p>\n . . . away we go!<\/p>\n . . . too much coffee this morning . . . hallucination out on the prairie??? . . . no just a great ad for the “Museum in Rudyard” . . . <\/p>\n . . . where there are 596 nice people and 1 old sore head!!!<\/p>\n . . . first one of these guys I have seen along the way and he didn\u2019t seem to like my bike!<\/p>\n Different than the last several days , we passed a number of small towns on today’s 60 mile route. They were evenly spaced along the railroad bout every 10 miles. Kremlin, MT . . . <\/p>\n . . . bowling alley at 9:30am.<\/p>\n Not much else out here other than a few rollers to keep things interesting.<\/p>\n Jonathon Livingston Seagull, I presume????<\/p>\n Of the five town we passed only one had a store out on Hwy 2. The others were all 1\/2 mile or so off the road . . .you you can guess which one we stopped into . . .<\/sub> The Hyingman Store\u2019s front marquee said\u2019 Help Stamp Out Home Cooking\u2019!!! . . . so of course we stopped . . .<\/p>\n . . . as I turned in, and hit a bumpy patch, my front left pannier flew off. Same thing happened on the Trans Am 8 years ago . . . maybe I should check the fitting???<\/p>\n . . . what a great little stop . . . <\/p>\n . . . with lots of fun signage!<\/p>\n Riders continued to roll in until we ‘owned the place’!!<\/p>\n Nashville Bill was there too. He added some color to the eyes of his hockey mask find from the state of Maine.<\/p>\n Corvin was late for breakfast this morning but made of for it with this cinnamon roll ‘as big as your head’!!!<\/p>\n Someone else had one too but I promised to protect their identity . . .<\/p>\n . . . actually this has become standard wear for me in this hot, dry weather. My lips have become chapped and swollen even though i am using sunscreen and chapstick. Got to keep my lips kissing soft for when I meet up with Smoochie in late July in WI!!!!<\/p>\n I got to check this out . . . whether the MT DOT thinks talking on cell pones is so dangerous they provide these pullouts (not likely) or the cell phone coverage is so spotty out here (I had none) that where there is a signal they provide a pull out. Either way . . . it’s a good idea!!!<\/p>\n As I entered Havre, at noon, there was this prairie paddleboat sitting out in a field. You see the strangest things out in rural America.<\/p>\n Tonight we are staying at the fairgrounds.
